SKY Airline Inaugurates Interregional Routes in Peru

SKY continues to bet on the Peruvian connectivity and inaugurated new interregional routes this week.

According to alnnews, this April 12 and 14 respectively, the routes between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado, and Tarapoto and Iquitos were inaugurated.

“We are very proud to start low-cost and direct flights between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado, as well as from Tarapoto to Iquitos. We are sure that our arrival will be well received. SKY will expand the current offer so that Peruvians can move quickly, safely and at the lowest prices”, said the commercial manager of SKY in Peru, Franco Chaparro.

The aforementioned routes will be operated twice a week:

In the case of the route between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado, the flights will be on Mondays and Wednesdays; and the itineraries will allow passengers from Lima to also reach Puerto Maldonado via Cusco.

The flights between Tarapoto and Iquitos will be operated on Wednesdays and Fridays.

With these flights, SKY reiterates its commitment to the connectivity of Peru and reaffirms its objective that more passengers who need to travel can do so in the safest and fastest means of transport.

On the other hand, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of Peru granted the permits to Viva Air Peru, and Sky Airline Peru to join LATAM Peru to operate passenger flights from Lima to Buenos Aires. The authorization contemplates four weekly frequencies for each airline.

SKY continues to operate under strict security protocols and with the newest fleet in Latin America, as has been recognized by one of the main providers of aviation data analysis, CH-Aviation.

Passengers must continue to wear the mask and face shield throughout the flight and must avoid travel within the plane, unless strictly necessary.

The first SKY Airline A321neo was displayed at the Airbus facility in Germany. The low-cost Chilean company expects to receive it in the fourth quarter of 2021.

In principle, it will be used to operate the flights with the highest demand on the national and international network from Lima in Peru and Santiago de Chile.

According to aviacionline, SKY has an order for seven Airbus A321neo and another ten of the long-range version, Airbus A321XLR. This Airbus is going to be configured with 237 seats in a single class.

The airline has nineteen Airbus A320neo and subtracts the delivery for another six additional.

The Chilean low-cost carrier Sky Airline is the second operator worldwide to have a 100% A320neo capacity. More impressively, it has transitioned into becoming a full neo operator in only 15 months, gaining a few extra benefits along the way.
