Air France Adds 22 New Routes For Summer Leisure Travelers

Must read

Optimistic that travel restrictions this summer will allow for increased passenger traffic, Air France has announced some of its summer schedule highlights. Made public on April 8th, these include 80 seasonal routes and 22 new destinations. Let’s take a look at what the French carrier has planned for the upcoming holiday period.

Air France says that it will be increasing its services to leisure destinations ”to support the gradual recovery in travel expected over the summer period.” This is something similar to what we saw with TAP Air Portugal over the last week.

14 new routes for Europe and North Africa

Added to Air France’s existing flight schedule, we will see 14 new routes to European and North African destinations. They are as follows:

  • Paris-Charles de Gaulle to/from Tangiers and Agadir (Morocco), Monastir (Tunisia), Valletta (Malta), Las Palmas (Canary Islands, Spain), Corfu, and Rhodes (Greece) from July 5th.
  • Paris-Orly to/from Bari (Italy) as of May 31st, Ibiza (Spain), and Algiers (Algeria) as of June 28th.
  • Marseille-Provence to/from Catania (Italy) from June 26th and Corfu (Greece) from July 19th.
  • Nice-Côte d’Azur to/from London (UK) and Tunis (Tunisia) from June 28th.

Eight new domestic routes

Out of Air France’s 41 seasonal domestic routes available, there will be eight new services:

  • Paris-Charles de Gaulle to/from Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari from June 5th, 2021
  • Perpignan to/from Brest, Strasbourg and Nantes from June 25th, 2021
  • Biarritz to/from Caen from June 25th, 2021

Summer long-haul flight schedule coming soon

Air France adds that its long-haul flight schedule for Summer 2021 will be coming soon. This, of course, will be determined by international travel restrictions and the epidemiological situation in countries Air France is hoping to serve.

While its European and North African destinations will also hinge on relaxed travel restrictions, it is arguably less complicated to change and manage, compared to arranging international services.

All flights subject to change

Prospective travelers should also keep in mind that the airline’s flight schedule is subject to change due to travel restrictions being regularly updated in France and abroad.

“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, Air France has been adjusting its offer in real-time, taking into account changes in the health situation,” the airline’s official statement reads.

With this unpredictable factor, the airline offers fully modifiable tickets for all bookings up to December 31st, 2021. Customers have two options when it comes to changing plans:

  • Change the reservation at no cost,
  • Obtain a refundable credit voucher

If Air France cancels the flight, customers can choose to postpone their trip, request a full ticket refund, or receive a credit voucher, which is also refundable if not used.
