Which Airlines Are Flying To Barbados?

Must read

Barbados is an excellent spot for an island getaway, and one of the few international destinations opened up for US citizens. Passengers looking for a quiet vacation destination could find some joy at the island’s beaches. The island is also open for other foreign nationals to visit.

The main airport in Barbados is Grantley Adams International (BGI), located near Bridgetown, the largest city and capital of the island country. Travelers heading to Barbados in the near future must complete a pre-arrival form and receive a coronavirus test before departure. If you do not have a test result before arrival, you will need to take one at the airport. This is similar to Aruba’s arrival policies, another country also allowing US citizens within its borders.

Before booking your vacation, check carefully to see if you will need to undergo any additional measures after arrival. Barbados is categorizing tourists based on the status of the coronavirus pandemic in their respective countries.

Which carriers are currently flying to Barbados from the United States?

Barbados is one destination that remains relatively underserved by major US airlines. Currently, only two carriers operate flights to the island. This includes American Airlines and JetBlue.

American flies to Barbados out of Charlotte and Miami. However, American has suspended flights departing Miami from September 9th. Weekly flights out of Charlotte are expected to start from the end of October. AA uses Boeing 737s (including scheduled MAX service) out of Miami and Airbus A319s out of Charlotte.

The airline is currently flying once-weekly flights between Kingston and Barbados. In the future, the airline will reopen flights to Barbados from the Port of Spain. Those ATR-run flights will start in early September.
