Not letting the current crisis detract from future, post-crisis planning, TAP Air Portugal is announcing six new routes for summer 2021. From the list of destinations, it appears that Portuguese holidaymakers will benefit most from the new routes. However, travelers from other parts of the world will have more connections to Lisbon and TAP Air Portugal’s global network.
The six destinations
“TAP takes advantage of seasonal expansion opportunities to plan and strengthen its network,” the airline states. For summer 2021, the Portuguese airline plans to launch the following six new routes:
- Ibiza, Spain
- Fuerteventura, Spain
- Oujda, Morocco
- Zagreb, Croatia
- Djerba, Tunisia
- and Monastir, Tunisia
TAP will offer two weekly flights from Lisbon to Ibiza and one from Lisbon to Fuerteventura in Spain. These services will commence in June of next year.
The airline also notes that the inaugural flights for these services are scheduled to take place between May and June 2021. The one exception to this is Zagreb, which is scheduled to start in March 2021.

Flight details
It’s impressive that the airline already has the schedule planned out – especially given the uncertainty of the next few months. Here are the days and flight times for the new services:
Lisbon-Ibiza: Flights depart on Saturdays and Sundays, departing from Lisbon at 11:00 and arriving at 13:45. The return flight will depart at 14:30 and arrive at Humberto Delgado airport at 15:25.
Lisbon-Fuerteventura: TAP’s service to Fuerteventura is only once per week on Saturdays. This flight will depart at 11:00 from Lisbon and arrive at 13:20. Returning to Lisbon, flights depart at 14:05 and arrive in the Portuguese capital at 16:10.
Lisbon-Zagreb: Between Lisbon and Zagreb, three weekly flights will be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departures from Lisbon will be at 08:00 with a scheduled arrival at the capital of Croatia at 12:05. Returning, the flight departs Zagreb at 12:50 and arrives in Lisbon at 15:15.
Lisbon-Djerba: This is a once-weekly flight that takes place on Sundays. It will depart Lisbon at 09:25 and arrive in Djerba at 12:30. While the airline did not state the departure time for the return flight, our guess would be within an hour of arriving in Djerba.
Lisbon-Monastir: This is a once-weekly flight that takes place on Fridays. It will depart Lisbon at 10:00 and arrive in Monastir at 12:55. While the airline did not state the departure time for the return flight, our guess would be within an hour of arriving in Monastir.
Lisbon-Oujda: And finally, TAP will offer two weekly flights to Oujda, Morocco, on Saturdays and Sundays. The flight will depart from Humberto Delgado Airport at 10:00 and arrive in Oujda at 12:05.
All times listed are local.
While the airline has only recently announced six new destinations for 2021, it has previously announced other new destinations as well, which were supposed to start this year. In 2021 the first flights departing from Lisbon to Cancun, Cape Town, Agadir, and Santiago de Compostela will take off. The start of these routes was postponed due to the current situation.
“The list of routes and flights will be adjusted whenever circumstances require, in view of the dynamics of restrictions and demand,” the airline notes.
