Situated just south of the Arctic Circle, Iceland is among Europe’s most magical holiday destinations. The country’s nature and geography provide year-round fascination. What’s more, flag carrier Icelandair is currently offering some attractive return fares from the US East Coast in October!
The flights
Icelandair operates direct flights from its base at ReykjavÃk KeflavÃk International Airport (KEF) to several US destinations. Among these are Boston Logan International (BOS) and New York’s JFK and Newark (EWR) airports. These East Coast cities have multiple dates in October for which an economy class return to Iceland comes in at under $400!
Icelandair operates various aircraft on its transatlantic services, with the widebody Boeing 767 a particularly common workhorse on these routes. The airline also flies the Boeing 757, and some of the flights are also scheduled to be operated by the Boeing 737 MAX 8. However, this, of course, depends on its recertification in Europe. This could happen as early as next week.
