LATAM Announces Operational Projection for March 2021
LATAM’s operational passenger projection for Mar. 2021 is estimated to reach up to 35% (measured in available seat kilometers – ASK) compared to the same month in 2019, in a pre-pandemic context.
In a press release, the group has planned 675 daily domestic and international flights, connecting 115 destinations in 16 countries. Meanwhile, in Cargo operations, there are more than 1,100 flights scheduled for March, operating with a 13% higher than the same month in 2019.
It is important to mention that all projections are subject to the evolution of the pandemic, as well as travel restrictions in the countries where LATAM operates.
As announced, LATAM Airlines Group reported that its operational passenger estimate for February would reach up to 35% (measured in available seat kilometers – ASK) compared to the same month of the last year. This statistic is lower in relation to last January, in which the operation was 39.8%, in a scenario dominated by the increase in government restrictions on air transport worldwide.
During February 2021, passenger traffic (measured in rented passenger-kilometers – RPK) was 27.3% in relation to the same period in 2019, based on an operation of 35.4% (measured in seats kilometers available – ASK) compared to February 2019. This implied that the load factor decreased 19.2%, reaching 64.9%.
In cargo operations, the load factor was 65.6%, 7.7% over that registered in the same month of 2019.
