Kuwait Airways’ New Business Class Seat – What To Expect

Kuwait Airways recently took delivery of two Airbus A330-800s simultaneously. The aircraft type is a rare one – with less than 20 -800s having been ordered and just these first two being delivered to Kuwait Airways. But for those flying to and from Kuwait on these jets one day, what will the aircraft’s new business class seat look like? What can passengers expect? Let’s find out.

The layout of the shortest A330neo

According to Airbus, Kuwait Airways’ A330neo will accommodate 235 passengers in total. Looking at each cabin, economy class will have 203 seats while business class will feature 32 fully-flat beds.

With these numbers and a 1-2-1 configuration in business class, we can see that this premium cabin will offer eight rows of seating.

“The A330neo is the right aircraft for Kuwait Airways in these challenging times. This unique product is spot-on with Kuwait Airways’ ambition to expand its network in the most efficient and versatile way. With its Airspace best-in-class cabin comfort the aircraft will quickly become a passengers’ favourite.” -Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer

The actual business class seat

Now that we know how the interior of the A330-800 will be divided up, let’s take a look at the business class seat itself.

While the airline doesn’t offer any detail on its website about its new business class, we can see some visuals of the new cabin and seating in a video posted to Twitter:

As you can see from the video, the cabin is fairly bright, with all hard plastic colored white. This includes the ‘shells’ and walls that separate each seat. However, staying ‘on brand,’ the airline’s seats and usable surfaces are either dark blue or black.

The seats are described by Collins Aerospace as follows:

“78-inch fully-flat business class solution offering exceptional comfort through the Crystalflex™ diaphragm comfort system, living space with increased stowage, and gate-to-gate in-flight entertainment solutions all while maintaining overall cabin space.”

We’re not 100% sure, but it does appear that the screen will be controlled via a mini touchscreen located beside the armrest – let us know if you agree!

The Super Diamond

According to One Mile At A Time, the business class seats are Collins Aerospace Super Diamond seats. This product will offer direct aisle access no matter which seat you’ve chosen. This is what Collins Aerospace has to say about its Super Diamond product:

Provide an extra level of privacy – and save premium travelers the inconvenience of stepping over fellow passengers – with Super Diamond’s® all-aisle access. Super Diamond also allows flight attendants to offer a higher level of cabin service without inconvenience to passengers.

The aircraft have been delivered. Now all we have to do is figure out where they’re going to fly…

So what do you think of this new business class product by Kuwait Airways? After looking at the video of the cabin, are you excited to fly on this new jet? Please let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment.
