How robots and RPA will change the business of the future

Must read

In the whole world, large companies are often credited with such qualities as immobility and bureaucracy, which seems quite logical: the larger the enterprise and the more complex its structure, the more difficult it is to make changes.

On the other hand, the larger the company, the more resources it has and the more expensive the inefficiency of even one process is, so the biggest players in the market need to be the innovators.

There are people who still do not believe in the introduction of robotics everywhere, but a few years ago no one could believe that soon all people would use social networks daily and spend money on promoting their pages.

However, now everyone scrolls the Instagram feed every day and subscribes to hundreds of bloggers. And content makers use expensive advertising and buy Instagram followers to quickly grow their accounts.

Today, digitization is regularly discussed both in business and state projects, and many mistakenly consider it to be the trends of recent years. In fact, digitization as the introduction of digital tools began about half a century ago with the advent of computers, and almost immediately gave rise to the digital transformation of business.

One of the most popular and relevant areas of business digitization now is RPA (robotic process automation). The key idea is that the robot performs the same actions as a person, only faster and often better.

Why do corporations need robots

Recommendations for the implementation of robots include a primary description of all business processes and consultation with an integrator, as well as formulating a strategy. It is important even at the stage of negotiations with the client to say that it is imperative to robotize any repetitive and described processes.

As a rule, a must-have that provides a quick and visible result, and the most obvious choice is regular financial reports, then you can start robotizing work with purchases and debts, as well as tax planning and budgeting.

If the company is already accustomed to regularly spending money on promotion in social networks (for example, they can buy real Instagram followers or collaborate with popular bloggers), then plan a budget for other areas.

The next step for corporations could be to robotize inventory management, shipping, returns, and contactless transactions, all in the supply chain.

As for other aspects of automation, manufacturing companies with strong in-house development will benefit from the adoption of DevOps practices. A significant part of the processes is built on automation, in particular testing, deployment of code and infrastructure.

Of the non-obvious processes, one can single out the configuration of remote access that meets security requirements. This is especially true today with the transition to remote work in cases where this is possible.

It is expected that with the development of the market, the availability of services for the implementation of robots will increase, and companies already using RPA (Robotic Process Automation) will increase their internal expertise, since compared to many other digitization tools, there is a relatively low input technology threshold.

Thanks to this, RPA will become not only a way to reduce operating costs due to efficiency and release of the full-time equivalent units, but also an opportunity to improve the quality of services provided.
