The future of Avios
As the currency originally created and famously known as “Air Miles”, Avios is the loyalty currency of the five airlines of the IAG airline group. These include British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus, among others, making up one of the biggest airline groups in the world.
Avios is operated by IAG Loyalty Limited, which manages the British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Vueling Club, and the Aer Lingus AerClub, as well as all the retail, travel and financial services partners of the Avios currency. It now boasts over 35 million members, and estimates that some £40 billion ($55.5 billion) is spent collecting Avios every year.
