[ad_1]

Microsoft has been quite active with their Copilot platform in the past couple of years. Copilot and allied technologies have been featured prominently at Microsoft Ignite 2024. The company has continued that momentum and has released a bunch of new updates in March 2025, impacting applications across the Microsoft ecosystem.

The recent updates were extensively discussed at an online event organized by Evolvous – one of the leading Microsoft Solutions partners in Canada. Apart from members from the Evolvous team, the event was also attended by representatives from industry and subject matter experts.

Enhanced Accessibility for Customized Agents from the Copilot Chat Web Tab

Custom Copilot agents can be accessed directly from the web and work tabs of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chats. Users can simply select the ‘Get agents’ option from the navigation pane to explore the different agents that they have access to.

Custom Copilot agents are customized to align with the needs of the individual organization. They integrate work and knowledge from around the web for relevant insights.

Speaking about the update, Glorya Cornelius-Aldrin, Director of Marketing at Evolvous expressed her belief that the new feature will enhance the accessibility of custom Copilot agents. “Custom Copilot agents can accomplish everyday tasks faster and more efficiently. By enhancing accessibility, we expect to see more businesses adapting to the technology,” she added.

Improved Support for Large Files in Copilot Chat

Earlier, Copilot wasn’t accurate enough when it came to summarizing large files. However, in their latest Copilot Update, they have made it possible for users to get more comprehensive summaries for large files.

Users can use “/” to find and select their work files and then generate accurate summaries for files with voluminous text, including work reports with hundreds of pages or Contract PDFs with extensive terms and conditions.

“Many users, including some of our own clients, who have adapted to Copilot often faced issues when they were working with large files like annual work reports or an eBook with hundreds of pages. With this new update, we expect people to spend a lot less time on working on such large files,” Cornelius-Aldrin stated, speaking about the update.

Optimizing Copilot Agents Becomes More Effective with Contextual Web Data

As per the latest March 2025 updates, Copilot users can create agents that utilize data from up to four specific public websites. Users can their own websites or add their competitors, to get more relevant and insightful information.

Copilot agents can deliver more relevant responses by leveraging information from the selected sites. Industry experts speaking at the Evolvous Online Event believe that this will make Copilot more relevant and hence, more valuable to businesses.

New prompt suggestions in Microsoft Excel

The Copilot feature in Microsoft Excel gets an updated selection of prompts that can potentially make working with Excel significantly more productive. Users can simply open Copilot in Excel to explore the latest selection of prompts. Microsoft has said that they will continue to add more such prompts in the upcoming weeks.

This update aims to make working on Excel simpler. Instead of manually entering the prompts, users can simply choose the prompt that works for them and execute the task with a single click.

Generating the Slide-Specific Speaker Notes with Copilot

Thanks to the latest update, users can use the Copilot feature in PowerPoint to create speaker notes, according to the content displayed in each slide. These notes are expected to come in handy when the user is presenting them to a wide audience.

According to Glorya Cornelius-Aldrin this new feature will save time for the user and make their presentations more impactful.

Referencing plain text files while drafting with Copilot

With the March 2025 updates for Microsoft Word, plain text files in .txt format can now be referenced in Draft with Copilot. This aims to make it easier for users to integrate content seamlessly.

Users can easily find the plain text file in Draft with Copilot by entering “/” followed by the name of the file that needs to be referenced.

Collectively, all the brand-new Copilot updates for March 2025 will help businesses and their teams work more productively and leverage AI to boost their efficiency.

Glorya Cornelius-Aldrin stated that they will continue to offer customized Copilot consulting services to businesses across industry verticals to help them tap into the potential of Copilot and digitally transform their business for the future.
