Emirates SkyCargo Announces Service to Guadalajara

Earlier this week, Emirates SkyCargo, the air freight division of Emirates, announced that it will begin service to Guadalajara, Mexico.

The new route will mark Emirates SkyCargo’s second destination in Mexico and its 15th destination in the Americas. The cargo carrier’s first route to Mexico began in April of 2014 when it started service to Mexico City. Adding Guadalajara as its second destination in Mexico is a logical choice. Guadalajara is not only the second-largest city in the country (the largest being Mexico City) it is also a major tech hub.

The flights to Guadalajara will be operated with the Boeing 777 freighter. Emirates SkyCargo maintains 11 Boeing 777F’s in its fleet which has a payload of 224,900 pounds and a range of 4,970 nautical miles.

The flights will operate twice a week on Monday and Friday. The flight number will be 9936. According to the carrier, the flights will arrive in Guadalajara at 7:20 a.m. and depart at 9:20 a.m. The flights to Guadalajara originate in Mexico City, giving the flights a distance of approximately 250 nautical miles. A variety of different cargo is expected to be transported on the flights to Guadalajara including auto parts, fresh produce, and other general cargo.

Emirates SkyCargo will begin its service to Guadalajara starting the first week of October 2020.
