Earlier this morning, Emirates revealed its stunning new premium economy cabin onboard the Airbus A380. However, that’s not the only enhancements to be found onboard the aircraft. Indeed, all cabins have had a refresh. Let us take a look at some of the upgrades found onboard the aircraft.
The economy cabin
We’ve already covered Emirate’s new premium economy cabin in another article published this morning, so we’ll start just behind it, in the economy cabin. Economy passengers will see the second most significant upgrade, with the introduction of a new ergonomically designed seat. According to the airline, the seat is one model up from that featured on its refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft with first class suites.

Similar to premium economy, the seats have a 13.3-inch IFE display. They also feature a wood grain finish on tray tables and a leather headrest. With the new premium economy cabin situated at the main deck’s front, the economy cabin now occupies the remainder of the main deck.
Redecorating the bar
Walking up the steps at the rear of the economy cabin takes you up to the Airbus A380’s onboard lounge. While the design of the bar remains much the same, a couple of improvements have been made. The airline has installed a new floor throughout the bar area, in addition to selecting new trims for the features.
New colors in business class
In front of the bar is the business class cabin. The airline has opted to completely refresh the seats in this cabin with new champagne-colored leather covers. This accompanies a wood finishing similar to on the airline’s 777s with first class suites. The airline is seeking an executive jet look in the cabin, which retains its 1-2-1 configuration.
Not much change in first class
Sadly Emirates hasn’t surprised us by installing its gamechanger first class suites on this refreshed Airbus A380. The cabin has received some changes. However, these changes are minor compared to other cabins.
In the first class cabin, Emirates has fitted the suites with slightly wider and taller doors to increase passengers’ privacy and comfort. The airline has also refreshed the design and fittings found in the shower suites located in the first class cabins of its A380s.
Commenting on the refresh, Emirates President Tim Clark said,
“The Emirates A380 is already one of the most sought-after travel experiences in the skies, and now we’ve made it even better… True to our fly better promise, Emirates continues to invest to offer our customers the best possible experience.”
