Emirates has reopened almost 100 destinations as the carrier moves to return to full service. The routes that have restarted include Uganda and Oman, bringing the total number up to 94.
What is the latest route to restart from Emirates?
Emirates revealed in a press release yesterday that it will return to its destinations of Entebbe in Uganda as well as Muscat in Oman in the next few days. This will mean that the airline serves up to 94 destinations out of 161 total before the crisis.

Services to Entebbe, Uganda will start on 1st October and will operate return on Thursday, Fridays, and Sundays. This will be the 20th destination for the carrier in Africa, allowing passengers to travel onwards to the USA, Asa, and throughout the Middle East.
Emirates flight EK 729 will depart Dubai at 1030hrs, arriving in Entebbe at 1500hrs. The return flight, EK 730, will depart Entebbe at 1700hrs, arriving in Dubai at 2325hrs.
As for Muscat, Oman will start operating on 2 October. This route will operate only twice a week on Sundays and Fridays. This route is very short and will be a quick flight for passengers saving them a drive through the desert.
Flights from Dubai to Muscat will operate twice a week on Sundays and Fridays. Emirates flight EK 866 will depart Dubai at 0215hrs, arriving in Muscat at 0330hrs. The return flight, EK 867, will depart Muscat at 0440hrs, arriving in Dubai at 0555hrs.
Both routes will run with an Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and will fly through the hub of Dubai.
What restrictions are there on passengers?
Passengers traveling on Emirates from these localities to Dubai will need to undergo a special COVID-19 check when landing at the airport – even if they are in transit. This is irrespective if they are locals, foreigners, or tourists passing through, with a positive result confining the passenger and stopping them from flying onwards.
Onboard the Emirates aircraft, passengers are given complimentary hygiene kids that include a mask, gloves, hand sanitizer, and antibacterial wipes. But that’s not all; the airline has also outlined an impressive customer policy of offering free medical expenses for anyone who is diagnosed by COVID-19 onboard their aircraft or afterward.
Customers can now travel with confidence, as Emirates has committed to cover COVID-19 related medical expenses, free of cost, should they be diagnosed with COVID-19 during their travel while they are away from home. This cover is immediately effective for customers flying on Emirates until 31 December 2020, and is valid for 31 days from the moment they fly the first sector of their journey.
That means that passengers that catch the virus after their flight in their destination country are still covered. An incredible offer. Lastly, all passengers that book with Emirates have ‘generous rebooking terms’ if borders close or if the situation changes.
