Breeze Airways has announced it is adding Orlando as its 30th destination and 19th nonstop from Charleston, starting on June 23. The new low-cost airline will launch this new route as it continues with its plan to add 35 routes from ten new cities this summer. Let’s investigate further.
Landing in Orlando
It was just a matter of time. Breeze Airways, an ultra-low-cost carrier founded by David Neeleman, has added Orlando International Airport (MCO) as its 30th destination. The airline will connect to this new destination from Charleston International Airport (CHS) beginning on June 23 and starting from US$39 one way.
Breeze Airways has 40 flights per week to 12 destinations from Charleston.
David Neeleman said,
“We’re excited to connect our largest base, Charleston, with our newest destination, Orlando. Breeze identifies underserved routes and connects communities that need it.”
The route is currently only operated by Silver Airways, which flies two weekly services on Monday and Friday.
Breeze will employ its Embraer E190 fleet to operate this route. The airline’s Embraer E190s (of which it has 13 units) have a capacity for 118 passengers in a two-class configuration. It has 18 premium economy seats and 100 economy seats in a 2-2 configuration.

Launching new routes
Breeze Airways is adding 35 routes this summer from ten new cities. After one year of commercial service, Breeze is now expanding across the US with 77 routes between 28 cities and 18 states.
During the summer, Breeze is opening up flights from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Bernardino in the west. In the east and southeast, Breeze is adding Jacksonville, Fort Myers, Sarasota/Bradenton, Savannah, Nashville, and Syracuse as new destinations.

The low-cost operator will deploy its new Airbus A220-300 fleet on many of these routes. For example, Breeze will employ these jetliners from San Francisco to Richmond, Charleston, Louisville, and from Los Angeles to Providence, Norfolk, and Savannah.
New A220 coming
According to ch-aviation, Airbus has two A220-300 ready to be delivered in the coming days. While these two jetliners don’t have a US registration yet, we know their serial numbers, 55148 and 55151, respectively. Breeze has ordered 80 Airbus A220s, with options for 40 more. The airline expects to receive one aircraft per month for six years.
Breeze’s initial A220 aircraft deliveries will feature 126 seats, including 36 first class seats in a two-by-two configuration, 10 Extra Legroom seats, and 80 Standard Economy seats in a 2-3 configuration. However, the A220 seat configuration is dynamic, and later deliveries will offer 137 total seats, 12 first class seats, 45 Extra Legroom seats, and 80 Standard Economy seats onboard.
