Alliance between Aeroméxico and Delta Air Lines Celebrates Four Years

Aeroméxico and its partner Delta Air Lines celebrate four years of their joint collaboration, the cross-border alliance between Mexico and the United States that begun in May 2017 creating multiple services and benefits to more than 22 million customers.

In a press release, the Mexican carrier stated that despite the challenges arising from the pandemic, both airlines continue to work to offer a travel experience approved; from developing safety and cleaning protocols to protect the health of customers and collaborators through the Aeroméxico Health and Hygiene Management System (SGSH), and the Delta CareStandard, until working together to ensure that passengers have the necessary digital resources to meet new travel requirements.

Regarding the experience on board, they have worked to improve and align their service offering, identifying and establishing processes that allow your flight attendants to provide standardized services during the flight. In addition, Aeroméxico offers a new exclusive menu in its Premier cabin for flights between the United States and Mexico, inspired by Delta recipes, in order to provide an approved experience that customers can enjoy traveling first class with both airlines.

Aeroméxico and Delta’s efforts to offer an aligned travel experience allow their customers to buy tickets in all Aeroméxico and Delta reservation channels, reserve seats and check in through the Aeroméxico or Fly Delta application. Customers can also take advantage of free instant messaging over Wi-Fi on board as well as have approved carry-on and checked baggage policies.

Both airlines have also worked on initiatives for corporate travelers, such as the Corporate Priority program that provides consistent benefits around the world, among which are: personalized check-in, protection when losing something flight, among others.

Currently, they offer from their main centers of operations, a network of more than 40 routes between Mexico and the United States, in addition to having the largest number of operations in the New York and Los Angeles markets from the City of Mexico.

Likewise, compared to 2019, Aeroméxico and Delta Air Lines are operating 40% more capacity in the main beach destinations in Mexico, and have resumed operations on major routes such as Mexico City-Minneapolis / St. Paul which restarted on May 5, while the Mexico City-Austin and Mexico City-Dallas routes will operate again on May 1 of July.

Through their Joint Collaboration Agreement, Aeroméxico and Delta Air Lines create the leading cross-border airline alliance between Mexico and the United States. This agreement allows greater connectivity and more schedule options that benefit customers of both airlines, in addition to strengthening the relationship they have had for 20 years as member airlines of the global SkyTeam alliance.

Aeroméxico offers greater access through its operations centers in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara, while that Delta has a strong presence in the United States through its hubs in Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St.Paul, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City and Seattle. Both airlines work together to improve the travel experience to through greater connectivity, by jointly investing in last waiting rooms and VIP lounges within airports, and grant benefits with the Club Premier and SkyMiles frequent flyer programs.
