BREAKING: Allegiant Reveals Route Expansion

Editor’s Note: More routes and an official statement from Allegiant are expected after this story is initially published. This article will be updated as new information is made available.

With the coronavirus vaccine slowing making its way across the United States, low-cost carrier Allegiant Airlines loaded a host of new routes into their website late on Monday night. With this update, the Las Vegas-based carrier hasn’t focused on any region in particular, but has instead added routes all over the map. While the airline has not formally announced the changes, a press release is expected in the coming days.

Grand Rapids, Michigan

Grand Rapids is one of the Allegiant’s fastest-crowing bases. The carrier will operate a total of 18 nonstop routes out of the west Michigan Airport.

New cities from Grand Rapids include Rapid City, South Dakota and Portland, Oregon as well as a number of other destinations as listed below.

Portland, Oregon

This northern Oregon city will be getting four new destinations, two of which will be cross country flights from the city.

New routes from Portland include Billings and Missoula, Mont; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Des Moines, Iowa.

Bozeman, Montana

The carrier will be adding multiple destinations from Bozeman, bringing Montanan residents to warmer climates in the south. The new routes may be especially appealing to passengers across the country looking for a getaway as the coronavirus vaccine is rolled out.

New connections from Bozeman include Oakland and San Diego, California and Austin, Texas.

Rapid City, South Dakota

This South Dakotan city will be getting nine new destinations, bringing its total of nonstops to 11. It is among Allegiant’s biggest expansions this time around.

New routes from southwest South Dakota include Appleton, Wis; Punta Gorda, Florida; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Indianapolis, Indiana; Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee; Peoria, Illinois; and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Other New Routes

As expected, not every city had tons of new notable routes. Other new routes include Key West, Florida to Cincinnati, Ohio; Asheville, North Carolina to Destin, Florida; Austin, Texas to Northwest Arkansas National Airport; Portsmouth, New Hampshire to both Nashville, Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Boston to both Indianapolis, Indiana and Norfolk, Virginia; Houston Hobby to both Des Moines, Iowa and Lexington, Kentucky; Savannah, Georgia to Albany, New York; and Providence, Rhode Island to Appleton, Wisconsin.
