Alaska Airlines Launches Buy 1 Get 1 Whole Row Promotion

Alaska Airlines is launching a two day “Buy One, Get One” sale. If you buy one main cabin ticket, you can get a second ticket on the same itinerary for just the taxes and fees. Essentially, you’ll get the whole row to yourself for the price of one ticket. Passengers can take advantage of this deal for travel to over 100 destinations in the Alaska network.

Passengers can purchase a main cabin fare and only pay the taxes and fees to get a second ticket on the same itinerary. Alaska Airlines’ senior vice president of marketing and guest experience, Sangita Woerner, stated the following in a press release viewed by Simple Flying:

“As our guests begin to make decisions on when flying feels right to them, we’re looking for new and creative ways to show that our care is always there. With this BOGO sale and blocked middle seats through October, guests can get an entire row to themselves, which we hope brings even greater peace of mind. There’s nothing better than helping people reconnect with family and friends, get outdoors or relax and recharge safely, for a great deal.”

This promotion is valid for travel between August 7th and October 31st. Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 PM Pacific time on August 9th. To get the whole row, you select your seats when purchasing. When you book, you have to head to the Alaska Airlines booking form found here. Make sure you have chosen two travelers and entered the code “GETTHEROW” in the discount field. Select a window and aisle seat to get the whole row for yourself.

Alaska Airlines has placed some restrictions on the deal. You have to purchase a main cabin base fare. This promotion is not valid for first class or Saver fares. The validity days of the promotion depend on where you are going:

  • To Hawaii and Mexico: Valid on flights from Sunday through Thursday
  • From Hawaii or Mexico: Valid on flights from Monday through Friday
  • All other cities: Valid Monday through Thursday, and Saturday

Encouraging people to fly

This promotion is designed to encourage people to fly. Some people have concerns about flying and sitting in close proximity to another person– even with the blocked middle seat. This move is designed to help alleviate those concerns and sell more seats on flights now.

In addition, with most travelers in the air now flying for leisure, Alaska Airlines has made the validity of this promotion available on days when leisure travel is not exactly at its peak. Two of the busiest US domestic travel days, Fridays and Sundays, are excluded from the promotion if you are traveling anywhere in Alaska’s network minus Hawaii or Mexico.

In addition to blocking the middle seats, Alaska Airlines has taken several measures to help keep its passenger and crew safe. This includes a mask requirement with no exceptions, yellow card warnings, enhanced cabin cleaning, and free changes on flights booked by September 8th. All in all, Alaska has almost 100 safety measures in place.
