Aeroméxico Put in Service Its Boeing 737 MAX
According to a press release, Aeroméxico has coordinated with the manufacturer Boeing and the Mexican Federal Civil Aviation Agency for all the required steps and tests necessary to reincorporate the Boeing 737 MAX into operation. Currently, the airline has received six of the MAX 8 with another 44 expected to be delivered and a further 10 MAX 9’s too.
In compliance with the requirements established by the corresponding authorities and Boeing, the pilots completed the necessary training to fly these aircraft, which had modifications, mainly in its operating system.
The Boeing 737 MAX is an aircraft with great efficiency compared to models of other generations because it uses up to 14% less fuel per seat, has almost 15% less CO2 emissions and up to 40% less noise. Its range becomes up to 20% greater and its cost of operation is almost 10% lower compared to other generations.
Aeroméxico will begin the reincorporation of this aircraft model on the route between Mexico City and Cancun, and will add other destinations such as Guadalajara, Monterrey and Tijuana according to the planning of the airline allows it.

As published, On Nov. 18 of this year, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced the Boeing 737 MAX certification for its return to commercial operations, reversing a decision made almost two years ago after two of the aircraft were involved in fatal crashes in Africa and Southeast Asia.
Aeroméxico celebrates 10 years of its route between Mexico City and Montreal. This route is its first destination in Canada. The celebration coincides with the same week that the Mexican carrier announced an increase to 5 frequencies weekly to this destination.
Aeroméxico has direct flights between Mexico City and Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, as well as shared codes with partner airlines to reach more than 30 destinations within Canada. In the last five years, Aeroméxico has doubled the offer of flights between the two countries.
According to a21, 80.39% of the commercial aircraft fleet in Mexico is active again. From the 311 commercial aircraft in the country, 250 are active, while 61 are still grounded.
At the end of the 2020 third quarter, the main 12 airlines in the country (including three Cargo carriers) had an active fleet of 258 aircraft. Volaris had 80; Aeroméxico 94; Viva Aerobus 39; Aeromar 8; Magnicharters, TAR and Interjet 7 each; Aerounión and Estafeta 5 each; Air Calafia 3 and Mas Air 3.
