Advanced Air Adds Mammoth Lakes
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, airlines are beginning to bulk up on their schedule for what they hope to be a busy winter season, and Advanced Airlines is no different.
Advanced Airlines is an aircraft operator company that was founded in Los Angeles in 2018. The airline operates scheduled flights in the southwestern United States which includes one Essential Air Service city: Silver City, New Mexico. They also offer charter services around the world, per their website.

Advanced Airlines operates under FAA Part 135 and holds a commuter authority with the Department of Transportation. tHIS means that the carrier operates without the use of TSA checkpoints at the airports they serve, meaning you can arrive at the airport just 30 minutes before your flight for most locations.
This makes the Los Angeles-based carrier more convenient than conventional airlines where you must arrive many hours before your flight, even if your only flying a short distance.
Last year AirlinesGeeks reported that Taos Air was expanding flights in the ski town of Taos, N.M. with a Dornier 328 jet operated by Advanced Airlines to Carlsbad and Hawthorne, Calif. This year, the carrier decided to try their hand in the Mammoth Lakes market.
The carrier will begin flights from Mammoth Lakes, Calif to three destination on Dec. 17, 2020 and will run through at least the first week of April 2021. Destinations from Mammoth Lakes will include Carlsbad, Hawthorne and Burbank all of which are located in California.
Carlsbad flights will operate out of the main airline terminal at the McClellan-Palomar Airport located roughly 30-miles north of San Diego. Hawthorne flights will operate out of the ‘Jet Center Los Angeles’ building, which is at the Hawthorne Municipal Airport located just four miles southeast of LAX.

Burbank flights will operate out of Million Air FBO at Hollywood-Burbank Airport. Flights departing Mammoth Lakes will operate out of the Hot Creek Aviation building.
The number of flights from Mammoth Lakes will be as follows: Burbank flights will fly five times a week, while Carlsbad and Hawthorne flights will be four times a week from each.
According Advanced Airlines, Mammoth Lake flights will be operated on 30-seat Dornier 328 regional jets and, on occasion, a [nine-seat] King Air aircraft.

No matter the which type of aircraft you end up flying on, it will be the easiest and fastest way to Mammoth Lakes.
