The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) was introduced in 2011 with former Armenia flag carrier Armavia. The Russian regional jet is still going strong with several airlines. Here is a look at the carriers that continue to deploy the plane.
Moscow-based Sukhoi manufactures the aircraft. Therefore, it is not surprising that most airlines that utilize the plane are based in Russia and surrounding nations.
Aeroflot
The flag carrier of Russia currently holds the most SSJ100s in the world. According to Planespotters.net, the airline has 54 units within its fleet, with 33 of them in service.
Azimuth Airlines
The Rostov-on-Don-based carrier solely operates Superjet 100s. 10 of the airline’s planes are active while one is in storage.
Comlux KZ
Flying out of Almaty, Kazakhstan, the operator holds one SSJ100. The plane joined its fleet in January 2017.
Gazpromavia
Supporting the Russian oil and gas industry, the Moscow-based outfit holds 10 units of the type. All of these planes are currently in action.
Interjet
The Mexican carrier holds 22 Superjet 100s. Only five of these are active, but the type is the only aircraft currently in service for the airline as all of its Airbus A320s are out of service.
IrAero
Irkutsk-based IrAero holds 10 units of the model. However, four of these are presently parked.
Kazakhstan National Security Committee
The Kazakhstani intelligence agency only holds a single SSJ100. This plane joined its fleet in November 2016.
Red Wings
The Russian leisure airline operates two SSJ100 units. The company is also looking do fly 60 by 2024.
Rossiya – Special Flight Detachment
The Russian group holds two of the jets. Both of these arrived in the spring of 2015.
Royal Thai Air Force
The Thai military outfit holds three Superjet 100s. All of these planes were delivered in 2015.
RusJet
The Moscow-based firm holds a single SSJ100. This jet arrived in September 2015.
Russia – Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM)
The governmental organization holds two SSJ100 aircraft. Both of the planes are currently active.
Russia – Ministry of Internal Affairs
Another Russian governmental group holds the type. This institution has operated its current SSJ100 unit since December 2013.
Seraph Aviation
The Irish company holds six units of the type. All of these arrived within the last year and are presently in storage.
Severstal
The Russian firm holds four SSJ100s. These are all currently in service.
SuperJet International
The Italian outfit holds only one aircraft, and that is the Superjet 100. This plane is currently in storage.
Yakutia Airlines
Based in Yakutsk, Sakha Republic, Yakutia Airlines has five SSJ100s. However, just two of them are active.
Yamal Airlines
The Russian regional passenger carrier holds 15 SSJ100s. Only three of these are presently in storage.
Altogether, the global health crisis is placing several of the jets in storage. Nonetheless, there are still plenty of them in the skies with their respective operators.
